I'm a 28 Male Portuguese, I have lived in Bermuda for over 18 years I currently have a green card in Bermuda. My gf lives with me she is a 24 year old Canadian Citizen. She has a work permit in Bermuda, which will expire in July and there is no way she can remain here any longer. So she wants to sponsor me.  We have the following, however we just noticed how much is needed. We have lived together from Nov 07 until now .We are worried, because of how long it takes as well. Please let me know if you would think if this is enough for approval?

1) Rental Agreement from Nov 08 until Now - before then we lived with my mom and dad we have a declaration letter from my dad confirming that we lived together. We have no joint bills or bank accounts. She has a few bills that came to my dad's house that is all.
2) Lots of emails. Some from Nov 07 to her family confirming that she had moved with my family and stating the new address.
3) Cards, photos, boarding passes of two trips we took together last year. Her family came to Bermuda in the summer and we have photos of us together and air confirmation of her family trip.
4) My life insurance has her name on it, although I just changed it two weeks ago as I had no idea it would be so important. So was my pension.  Those documents do not have any date when my gf was added to my life insurance, so they would not know it was just added although I would tell the truth if asked.

Our application will be processed in NY, do you know if we have enough. We have lived together for almost a year and half and our relationship is sincere and we love each other so much.

So would you say- YES or NO based on the documents above, yes or no and why?

hello roberto, i too am portuguese
with all of that you should have no problem showing that your relationship is genuine.  the fact that your girlfriend has bills addressed to your parents address will confirm that you have been together that long.

i dont see a reason why you would be refused.  we were refused in may and in march we have been approved woooooooowhooooo

best of luck!!!!!!!!!!

i doubt that being from bermuda and showing you have been living together for 1.5 years you will have to go an interview

alot of the third world countries it seems to interview regardless of how strong the application is

you should read all the thread u can about refusals so you will know what they are looking for

ie considerable age difference (that was me hubby is 20 years younger than me)
different culture, religion, met on the net have only seen each other once but got married,
that sort of thing

but if u have been living together then it is alot easier to show you're in a genuine relationship.

it is very important when you send in your application to give as much detail as you can from the begining of your relationship.  how you two met, how the relationship progressed...on the back of the pictures right the aproximate date and who is in the pic, list gifts, receipts for gifts if you have them, anything and everything that will confirm that the two of you have been together a while and your intention isn't just to immigrate to canada

best of luck

I would aprove you by principle, after looking you up if ....

your letters & papers are original, & genuine "ablity to check"
your father statement would get moreweight if he has a good reputation, & high social position, judge, police, goverment worker, dr. lawyer engineer....

if you have pictures that are from different periods of time... showing events stretched within the period you claim "2 years"

if you answer positivelly without hesitation regarding your gf.

THEN YES:   APPROVED.
