Show the total amount of your fund in CAD. Car, jewellery, land valuation is not acceptable. Say you have FDR/Savings balance of BDT 15lac. Say also its in CAD 18000. Then write 18000 in asset option. Settlement fund= Asset-liab. If you have no liab, Your settlement fund is equal to your asset.

Your explanation is not correct. Settlement fund should be in Cash, while the asset may include your investment as well. For example, if you have share/debenture which will be included in your asset but not in the settlement fund.

So far i know investment in shares r treated as liquid asset and not differ from cash in hand, cash at bant or fdr. But, the problem is that, only market value will be accepted not invested amount.

You are right...liquid asset means Cash and Cash Equivalents.

Not exactly, mmh93, bhaiya. Agreed with Srana bhai. In my explanation, I did not mention anything about investment as I drawn only an example. You can consider several things as your settlement funds such as market value of shares, Provident Fund any such unencumbered assets. As rajibborua is a newbie, I only tried to make a simple example including only cash/FDR at banks. Hope you understand.

What you said was ' asset-liability=settlement fund'  ;which may be correct only when you do not have any other form of asset e.g agriculture land, house property etc. In tax return form asset is generally all inclusive and it is usually higher than what immigration mean by unencumbered fund.

Cash at bank: BDT 2000k, Shares in mkt: BDT 200k, Land Property: BDT 4000k, Jewellery: BDT 800k, Liab: BDT 0.00

a) Assets
Indicate the total amount (in Canadian dollars) of unencumbered, transferable and available funds in your bank accounts, pensions, etc.

b) Liabilities
Indicate the total amount (in Canadian dollars) of real property mortgages and any other personal debts.

c) Total funds available for settlement in Canada
With consideration to your total assets and liabilities, indicate the total amount (in Canadian dollars) of unencumbered, transferable and available funds that you have for settlement in Canada.

A few points for your info

Acceptable proof of funds are:

-bank accounts in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner;

-cashable investments in your name or the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner;

-cashable fixed deposits in your name of the name of your accompanying spouse/common-law partner.

 
Not acceptable are:

-bank accounts in someone else's name;

-bank accounts which are joint in your name and someone else (other than your accompanying spouse/common-law partner);

-bank accounts in the name of your spouse who is not accompanying you to Canada ;

-property valuations;

-vehicle valuations;

-jewellery valuations.

I have tried two times writing to Singapore visa office, by sending them case specific query or general query. I have not got any response. ANy one has similar experiences?

What did you write? In some cases, when there is very general questions, they may not reply.  Did you write to singapore-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca? If not, write again.
