Hi!

I'm a bit confused. I checked on the website and before, they had the processing times divided in two stages, but now they have one timeline - 20 months. Do the applications still go through both stages?

I sent my PR application to Vegreville and about 3 months later, they sent it to the local Vancouver office for further processing. On the letter, they said they might ask me for more info, etc.

As of right now, it just says the Vancouver Admissions Office may contact me.

What does this mean? Am I still waiting for the AIP?

Thank you!

The letter said for "further processing". I don't know if that makes a difference. It's been 8 months since it was transferred to the local office.

Your application has been transferred to the local office without AIP, so as of now you have to wait until the local office contacts you.  Depending on how busy it is, that could take a while.

Thanks! Do they always send it without the AIP?

No.  Sending a file without AIP means additional information is required from the applicant to fully assess whether they are eligible for PR.
