I am a Cdn citizen sponsoring my husband who is from Jamaica  This is out second application - we first applied from within Canada, then a death within his close family called him home.

We have since applied again, from out side Canada and the waiting is killing us.  Approximately a month ago I received word by letter that I met the requirements and that his file is being forwarded to Kingston.  (side note - we were both approved the first time we applied).  We are now awaiting word from the office in Kingston.  He has completed his medical already.  The MPs office we have helping us asked us if he has received a B# (i am assuming this is the same as a AOR?  correct?)  Well he hasn't received any word from them at all.  What comes next?  ANyone who knows or is in this situation please help us/
Thank you

After Kingston receives the documents from Federal, it took spprox 4 months for Kingston to open my file for my husband.  Once teh file is open, the info will be updated on the On-line and he will receive a letter advising the file is now open with a new file number beginning with B#.

Then it will take sometime to be processed.  I am still waiting and this is now 8months.  I finally called my MP and the cannot find my Quebec acceptance which was sent to them in Jan.  Hence the file is still pending and they didnot do the police check.
