Hi Shanonp,

Don't worry. You are not alone. I and many other forum members are experiencing the same. I myself made initial application in March 2007 for which processing timelines were 7-8 years. So, in April 2010, I applied under this "So Called Fastrack System". My timelines are on the left for your perusal.

My family planning is also on hold due to this. I don't want to delay the process further once it starts. Because having/planning a kid now will delay our visa for about 6-8 months.

Well, you need to live your life as you want to but my advice is to get your priorities right. If you want a kid, try and have one, if you want Canada PR then get that one. As for the Dubai agents or whichever agents, they mostly dont know anything. They will say what you want to hear as they want your money.

Post june 2010, Most of the cases get finalised in 12 to 15 months. There are people who have taken longer and there are people who have got it in 7 months. Depends on case to case basis.

It is good to check the ECAS regularly and if your ECAS is saying - In process as you have mentioned then you should get Medical Requests or Additional information request in about a months time after going into 'in process'. If you are in process for longer than 1 month, then it is good to send an email enquiry to your visa office. Sometimes mail can get lost on the way.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply buddy...i did sent a mail asking for an update and the reply from them was below.

Quote
"CIC is working closely to manage arrivals in Canada, so that we meet, but do not exceed the immigration plan set by Parliament last fall for 2011.  Since we have larger inventories of applications than limits within the immigration plan for admissions to Canada, we must process applications according to the priorities set by Parliament.  As we have a sufficient number of applications in our high priority categories, we are not in a position to process your application at this time, nor can we predict when processing on your application will resume

This was in october; should I send another reminder?  the last line is kinda keeping me on hold for the future

Please advice if anyone has been in the same situation??

You may also look at unfaircic.com, just in case, they delay further. You can account for the damages in the delay as well.
