Hi,

I have a question about NOC 0631. I was in the US from July 2000-April 2003. During this stay I worked full time at Aramark as a Food Line Manager. Currently I am working as a Telecom Engineer. My question is am I still eligible to apply for NOC 0631 next year. Also If I get the PR for NOC 0631 , Can I apply for Jobs in my current Stream. Any inputs to this will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sujeet

As long as NOC 0631 is still included "next year" AND your job duties match those outlined for this occupation AND you have worked one full time equivalent AND reach a minimum 67 points you can apply.  Now, I say 67 points, but I am not completely sure that number will remain the same or how one will arrive at it as they are making changes to the points allotted to education/work/English/age.  Whew...now, once you get PR and land in Canada, you are free to apply for any job you wish.  Good Luck!

Hi Pippin,

Thanks for your reply. I was a Student when I was in US from 2000-2003. I worked full time at Aramark from 2001-2003. From 2001 to 2002 I was the Student Manager and in 2002 I was promoted as the Food Line Manager. Responsibilities Included Supervising daily operations of the Café to include the running and proper opening and closing of the area, Inventory Control of the items in the area and in the kitchen, Hiring and training of the staff and Scheduling Staff.

We used to Cater to 1200 students on a Daily basis. I used to make 15 k $ a year as I was just a Student at that time. Would this be a problem.
Let me know ur views.

Thanks,

I hope you will get some input from SENIORS on this, but from what I understand, IF your job duties match those of the NOC and you were employed and have proof of your hours/job duties, etc AND can account for how you were a student also, then why shouldn't it be counted.  There are many people who work and study out of necessity.  Just get adequate documentation to prove both.  It sounds like you had a very responsible job!!  Well done!
