Hi, we landed in Canada in Nov 2008 to fulfill the PR landing requirement and later left the country after 3 weeks stay. One thing that puzzled me was the immigration side did not stamp on the passports or record anything during our departure at the airport. So how do the immigration know that we have left the country, and how to account for our physical stay in Canada to meet the 2 out of 5 years requirement ? Any documents need to be produced when we re-enter the country ? For info we have already received the PR Cards after leaving Canada.

Thanks for your advice.

You should make notice of the actual date that you left because you will need to know later when you apply for PR card renewal or when you apply for citizenship.  They don't record when you leave but they may be working with some other border agencies so you don't know how much they know.  If they at any point suspect that you don't meet the residency requirements anymore when you enter Canada, they can give you 30 days to prove it.  Since you are a PR only for less than a year, it's not even possible for you to have lost your PR yet so you don't have to worry about it at all.

Thanks for the reply. I'm keeping the air ticket as one of the docs to account for my days of staying in Canada.
