Hi, I landed at the Peace Arch in BC on the 17 Sept 11 and I am still waiting for my PR Card. I was here on a working visa before that so it was just a trip to the border for me. They quote 34 working days as the waiting time so I'm way over that.

cic. gc. ca / english/ information/ times/ perm-card. asp

Any suggestions who I could phone? I plan on leaving the country for two weeks at Christmas so believe I would need this to get back in and also I just want to have it anyway.

Could they have sent it to the wrong address? Where would they get the address from? They have messed up before by sending a work permit to some random immigration lawyer who luckely tracked me down Smiley

I really thought I was finished with all my travel problems Sad

Hi Dalton. You can call to an Agent at CIC and ask the status of your PR card.
You should keep all your immigration details on hand when you call. The copy of COPR would be fine.

Call Centre telephone number: 1-888-242‑2100

Automated telephone service (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
If you have a touch-tone telephone, you can listen to prerecorded information about CIC programs, order application kits, and check the status of your application.
Call Centre agents - Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., your local time, except for statutory holidays.
You must choose one of the first five recorded options before you can speak to an agent.

Thanks, no luck with the automated service so guess ill try at 8am Monday. Do you think they would have taken the address from the "Confirmation of PR" form I filled in at the border, there's a small mark near the address so it could look unclear... Surely they would have used the address from file...

Hi, error is possible any where. We cannot guess what has happened. By calling CIC you will at least an idea about what is going on. Try 8 am sharp. You should be patient enough as the line gets buzy from morning.

Hi, Letina, try again. Perhaps it may be another agent answering to you and could be a positive information. Good luck.

Ok so I called 1-888-242‑2100 this morning and tried a few different options but the line iwas always busy and it hangs up. Is their any way of going on hold? If not its crazy as it takes about 3min to make each call due to having to listen to all the messages... and then its just luck if someone picks up?

Who did you call letina?

I'm getting pretty nervus now as I'm about to leave the country.

Spoke to them (CIC Helpline) this morning, my card hasn't been sent out yet... no reason why! Just told to call back in January...

Any idea's what to do now, they have said to call into the Canadian embassy in the country I'm visiting to get Travel Papers but I would be any way near the embassy. Can this be done online or by phone? They could send the papers to where I will be staying?

How much trouble can I get in if I dont have travel papers? Surely I'm on file as a PR somewhere so will get back in. So much for becomming a PR... I can't even talk a holiday without the risk of not being left back in.

Hi dalton, you are in a pathetic situation now. If your travel is urgent, the only option is to get a travel document before your return to Canada.
