Dear Seniors,

I entered Canada two months back and applied for PR card by giving my Friend's address. Now I am back in US but not yet heard of PR cards. I know that there was a postal strike in Canada but now since it is over, is there a helpline where we can check for the status for the PR card.

Thanks for your help.

 Cheesy

Can you ask your friend to contact the CIC call center for you to check the status of your PR Card. Give your immgration details to him:

Call Centre services (if you are in Canada only)
The Call Centre can answer questions, in English and French, about Citizenship and Immigration (CIC) services and programs, or applications in process inside Canada.

Call Centre telephone number: 1-888-242‑2100

•Automated telephone service (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
If you have a touch-tone telephone, you can listen to prerecorded information about CIC programs, order application kits, and check the status of your application.
•Call Centre agents - Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., your local time, except for statutory holidays.
You must choose one of the first five recorded options before you can speak to an agent.

Note that agents cannot:
◦answer questions about application status once it is sent to a Canadian visa office outside Canada,
◦make decisions on applications, or
◦help process applications more quickly.
If you are deaf or hard of hearing, or you have a speech impediment and use a text telephone, you can access the TTY service from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. your local time by calling 1-888-576‑8502.

Nowadays it takes around two months to get PR cards. You should get them within a fortnight. You can call CIC's call center for confirmation. Keep customer id.(mentioned on copy of COPR) and other personal info. handy. They would ask you for it when you call.

Step by step processing of PR card is not available online. Call center guys can give the current status.
Try from USA but if you cannot get connected let some one do it on behalf of you.
I hope you may be able to receive the PR in the said mail box within this month.

Try this number:

+1 613 944 4000 (for an agent: options 1,2,1,2,1 ... then 0 to skip the message)

Dear Seniors, I am still not able to get any response on the PR card. It is more than 2.5 months now. I tried calling the number from US but always it appears to be busy. Please let me know if there are any other ways we can get the status of it.
