Guys just wanted to have clarification regarding photo specification. A lot of PR Card photos are getting rejected. I plan to land, apply for PR card and then leave after a few days so I don't want the hassle of having my PR photos rejected. I've done some searching on this forum and have come up with these details:
Besides the passport size photos (which are much larger, I'm not going to talk about those here), the standard photo "frame size" is 35mm by 45mm (1 3/8" to 1 3/4"). However there are
three variations of head size for this frame size:
- When I applied for FSW app to VO the very first time, I used these specs:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG7A.aspThis page has a problem. The text says the head size should be between
25 mm and 35 mm (1” and 1 3/8”). But the photo illustration has a marking of head size between
25mm and 30mm (1" and 1 1/5")
- When we get PPR, we have to submit passport with photos that have visa photo specs:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/photospecs.aspHere the head size is between
31mm and 36mm (1 1/4" to 1 7/16")
(
Correction, thanks to zulkfal: Buffalo VO doesn't request these specs; they request the PR Card specs ... so your VO may also have a different requirement depending upon what you get in PPR)
- Finally, when we land, we're supposed to use following specs for PR card photos (to give to the immigration officer):
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5445EB.aspHere the head size is between
25mm and 30mm (1" and 1 1/5"). Same as in the photo illustration for FSW Appendix A (the first case above)
Seniors, members, correct me if I'm wrong and feel free to comment!
P.S.: photos could still be rejected for other reasons (smiling/frowning, tilted head, not clear, etc etc, but I guess those are easier to handle)
