My PR card expires in Nov, but I am away until January. I have applied for a new card, but it has been taking forever.
What should I do to cross with an expired card? (I have a 2-yr-old son who is a Canadian citizen traveling with me - he has a passport).

Apply for a Travel Document from the closest Canadian Consulate.  http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/travel.asp
