If you landed only 3 months ago then there is no need to pay for a new PR card application, you can wait for them to send you an update form (which can take 2 months for my case) and follow the instructions, only if it is rejected again and 6 months has passed then you need to pay $50 for each applicants to resubmit the pr card applications

Great. Thanks. I called they sent me an email while on the phone and the form is an online one where you put you address in and it will I guess mail a copy to the mailing address. So I just need to wait. Good to hear that I dont have shell another 50 bucks. Insane !!

Hi, I think your case is same as some others here, they changed the procedure some time around early November and with effect immediately so people who receive instruction to send photo to local CIC was then have to resend the photo to Sydney because local CIC now has no function to do the PR any more and they will just simply ignore the letter with the photo that was sent to them. I read on another forum that a guy got the same problem and later Sydney send him another form, but of course it takes months!! Anything that they do need a 30 days waiting, so for example, they need 30 days to update your address, 30 days to reply to your request, 30 days to take the next action... it is just insane

Hi,
Yes, my problem was that the person who I spoke to at the Call Centre advised me to send the information to Toronto-St Clair office, even though the process changed already, she just did not know probably that it had happened. I sent it and waited before I called again to tell them that the had signed it at the Toronto office and how long it would take (since I landed on 21 July). That is when they told me that nothing was going to happen there and that I had to send everything to Sydney, NS.
I sent it and was signed off on 08 January. How long should I wait before I get my card if everything is ok?

@  Pun500: The letter I sent to Toronto was without the Suplementary form, since the person advised me that I could do that if I sent a letter of explanation (I was probably mis advised again). Then I got 1 page called suplementary form in the post, and I sent that along with pictures and my letter of explanation. I hope this is it, as I am sick of waiting.

When I called the call centre asking the same question, she said it will be 37 business days from the date they received it in their office and update in the system, not the date you sent it out. So assuming it was received on 8 Jan, you will probably received it by end March or early April if nothing went wrong again. The waiting is just too long, I hate it when they said "Nothing we can do, you just have to wait!", yes it is indeed nothing we can do!

Hi everyone, for those who received the PR card, did they mailed it in a brown envelop with Immigration and return address on it or how to identify the envelop? I live at my cousin house and need to travel so I need to tell him how it look like so they can forward it to me. I just don't want them to send all the things as I got quite a lot of mails. Thanks!! It is so frustrating waiting and I have to leave for US soon so I probably need a travel document and have to pay 50 bucks Sad

So, I have finally received my PR cards. It has been 6 months and 4 days since I landed. For those of you who are not aware with my situation I will give you the timelines and maybe you can work out what may happen in your situation. My timeline will include the times I actually contacted the call centre.

21 July 2011 – My partner and I landed in Toronto

21 Sept 2011 – We called the centre to check on our cards and we were told to call back in 4 weeks

20 Oct 2011  - We called to check on card but not reply from Sydney NS, they told us to call back in 2 weeks because that was their standards if they failed to reply within 4 weeks the first time.

16 Nov 2011 – We called back and they told us that our pcitures did not meet the specifications (after 4 months!!!). We asked what to do and the agent told us that we were sent a form that we needed to fill out. They said it had been sent weeks ago, but we never got it (in fact, we are still waiting in January for it). She told us that we could write a letter of explanation and send pictures to our Toronto local office, which we did and spent $45 dollars to Fedex it there.

02 Dec 2011 – We called the call centre to ask how long we had to wait since we knew that someone had signed the package in Toronto St Clair. This new agent told us that they would not do anything with it because now we were required to send new pictures to Sydney NS. The process apparently changed on 1 November 2011, so the previous person did not give us correct information and we wasted precious time and money. They did not care about that and told us to re-send to Nova Scotia.

27 Dec 2011 – We were visiting family in the USA for Christmas and we finally sent the new pictures to Nova Scotia via UPS.

08 Jan 2012 – Someone in the Sydney, NS office signed our package and we decided to wait until 08 February to give a call and check when our cards will be coming or if the new pictures were also wrong.

24 Jan 2012 – A friend of mine told me that he had received our PR cards, so we never had to contact
the centre again and we can relax for 5 years until we need to renew them.

It has been a very painful experience; however, we were lucky that we had the time to wait, since we are still in London trying to finish projects so we were not in a real rush to get them, but we just wanted it done.

I hope you all get yours soon, and never give up please. We were close to giving up though.

Hi Guys,
I have received a red color letter asking me to re submit the photographs with copies of my passport and also a form which they provided for each applicant. My problem is that they have asked to enclose copy of that red letter - did anybody face any problems in taking a copy of that letter as it is in dark red and the moment you try to photocopy that letter it comes out as black. let me know if you guys know a trick to get around this "technical" problem or else I will have to mail them the original red letter in my package.

How many have actually received this red letter ??

No, they do not send that kind of letter or this is a special case, I received just a normal letter with supplementary form to with signature and a few items to fill in.

True! the letter looked like there could have been a restaurant menu inside... not very professional but never mind... you got your PR cards! I am sure you are as happy as I was since your timeline is nearly identical to mine.
