Those who arrived in Canada before PR arrived... did you enter on another visa? Or as a visitor? And how did you undergo the 'landing' process of becoming a PR, and what did this involve? I plan to arrive on a working permit a few months before PR is likely to be approved, and thought I had to leave and reenter once PR has been recieved..

Anyone recently resubmit photos for PR card? How long does it take to receive the new card? They have now changed the procedure that we need to submit the photo and supplementary form directly to CIC Sydney case processing centre instead of going personally to CIC local office to take the photo, HOWEVER the waiting time is 8 WEEKS instead of the usual 30 calendar days after taking photo at local CIC office, I wonder if this is added burden and more waiting time to applicant since previously it is faster to receive the PR card after retaking photo at local CIC office and it is safer too since they can take the correct photo requirements instead of us risking being rejected again taking the photos ourselves

Hi, my husband had to resubmit his photos which we did in the last week of November and today (January 8th) he finally got his PR card in the mail it was printed on Dec 28!

Hello,
Happy New Year! been away for a while because I was on holidays and I just got to read all the new posts. Congrats Mahmed on getting your PR cards.

I landed on July 21st and still waiting. I resent my pics last week to Sydney, NS, so I have to wait now. I sent it by UPS to make sure I have confirmation that they have received it.

Does anyone know how long it may take from now or when should I start pestering the Immigration call centre people. I am so annoyed that this is taking so long, since they only told me about my pics being wrong some weeks ago and then they told me the wrong procedure to send my pics to my local office in Toronto (which is wrong and their mistake cost me $40 dollars on Fedex!!!).

I never thought I would be so looking forward to getting a bl**dy piece of ID.

Please let me know if you think this may be finally it!

Thanks a lot guys! Appreciate that you share with us the timeline.. This PR card has been haunting me so much since I have to cancel all my travel plan and miss out many special events such as my cousin wedding in the US where I have already booked a ticket and have to cancel last minute, my holiday plan was also ruined all because of the plastic card that take half a year to process and still counting! I wonder if the people who do this really know how painful and inhumane it is to hold up new immigrants by these procedures. No country in the world that has such a bureaucratic and inefficient process such as the producing of PR card. It is just so horrible!

Hello,

I think you need to count business days since November 16 hence your wait is just 33 days up to today minus Boxing day and Jan 02 then you have 31 days. Hence, you need to wait seven more business days and then if you dont receive you card by then you can call Cic because the processing time is 38 business days.

Thnx Waitin_vain Smiley

Hello to Everyone,

Today, 13th January, 2012, I finally got my PR Card through post. I am deeply thankful to Almighty God. I have landed at Toronto Pearson Airport on 14th September, 2011, however, due to Photograph problem, my PR Card was not issued. I got the first letter from CIC Sydney Nova Scotia on 19th December, 2011, in which they asked me to send 2 Photographs again along with the Signature on Supplementary Identification form, which was already present in the CIC envelop. I posted it through Canadian Express Post service on 20th December, 2011. I came to know through tracking that it was reached to CIC Sydney Nova Scotia office on 23rd December, 2011.

I had made a call to CIC agent on 6th January, 2012 and she confirmed me that they had received and my PR Card is now in PROCESS, the date shown in her computer system was 5th January, 2012. So, this is my whole ..................................... most painful story ................................. as I was supposed to go back to see my old mother in November, she has been ill since then.

Please pray for a Very Good Health of my Mother. Many thanks and BEST WISHES to EVERYONE, who is waiting for the same. Good bye !!!

Hello,

Congratulations on getting your PR card and being able to leave the country to see your relatives. I do hope that your mother gets much better.

Your case gives me hope that I may get my PR card soon. It has now been 7 months since I landed.

Wishing your mother all the best and for recovering soon from illness! Congratz for your receiving of the PR card and thanks for your update! This give us some hope that we can get the card soon and be able to visit our family abroad, it is really painful to wait for a plastic card for so long! CIC is really heartless for new immigrants in this matter, sigh

HI everyone,

I, too, have been waiting for my PR card up to now. I have called twice but they told me that it was under verification. This is frustrating. We arrive Sept. 22 and my children's PR cards arrived last Nov. They were telling me that there's only 2 ways why it was delayed 1: there maybe something wrong with my picture or
2: there was a wrong information entered which I know it was there mistake since everything in my COPR is correct. There is definitely wrong with their system.

I have a quick question. If I need to send photos again as they say the specs did not match, do I need to pay for the PR card application again?

i think if photos rejected twice then you have to go to the CIC local office to take the photo there and if it is already more than 6 months since you land then you need to pay $50

No. Its been 3 months since we landed. Me and my spouse got our PR cards. But when I called the hotline they said that daughter's pictures need to be re submitted as it does not meet specs. I am not sure if I need to pay for it again for the PR card application?

If you landed only 3 months ago then there is no need to pay for a new PR card application, you can wait for them to send you an update form (which can take 2 months for my case) and follow the instructions, only if it is rejected again and 6 months has passed then you need to pay $50 for each applicants to resubmit the pr card applications
