Hi dear..here is the solution..if u have any VOIP calling cards(internet calling cards)dial this number: +16139444000 EXT 12120 try many times..till u find a agent to talk..they will ask u client ID number, address given while landing..phone number and all..try it.

All the best!

Cheers..

Hello, I have tried to dial this number to enquire about my PR Card since I am now outside of Canada and it does not seem to work any more. Does anyone know how I can contact them about my PR Card if I am not in Canada. I was told to call them on the 5th but I am being told that this extension number is not valid.

Your help is much appreciated.

Regards,

Someone else also had the same problem in this or another thread. The numbers seems to be restricted to Canadian access only. Do you have a friend/family in Canada who can call on your behalf? If not another choice would be to get an online Canadian VOIP number from one of the following VOIP service providers and then just call the regular CIC 1-800 number from the voip service:

https://tellfi.com/plans  (unfortunately these guys aren't free anymore. They used to have the basic model for free)
OR
http://www.budphone.ca/

Google Voice doesn't have local Canadian numbers yet.

Hope the above or other similar site will help you.

Just got my PR yesterday after 3-1/2 months of landing. But CIC has my citizenship wrong on my card. So I called CIC today who told me to wait for a form to fill and send that back to them with the new card and a copy of the landing document showing the correct citizenship.

Anyone else who had to send their card back to fix an error that was on CIC's behalf? What was your experience and how long it took to reissue the card with correct details? Thanks.

Hello,
I finally got through to someone at the CIC centre. They told me that after the 1 months that they made me wait, Sydney has not responded. The woman was very apologetic and said that she will send a second warning to them. Since this is a second warning, she told me that Sydney needs to reply to them with reasons for delay within 15 calendar days or simply issue the cards and send them to us within 15 days if there are no issues. She asked me to call back then for further info.

For the first time, the person I spoke to was very sympathetic with my situation and really apologised for what was happening to us. It felt nice to get that acknowldegement. So fingers crossed!

I see most of you who landed on 21 July or thereabouts already got their cards. I hope I am next. it will soon be 4 months since I landed.

You need to call the call centre, it may have been lost. Current wait times can be found here:http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp, except they don't seem to be accurate. Hubby has now waited about 70 business days, after being told 4-6 weeks when he landed. He has called a few times and been told different things, but hopefully his card will come soon.

From the website: If you live inside Canada and if it has been longer than the time shown above since you applied, please contact the Call Centre. Call Centre agents cannot speed up the process of your application or make decisions on your case.

You can also view the service standard for an initial PR Card. This details the specific level of service you can expect to receive under normal circumstances. This is the link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/service-standards.asp#prcard

According to the website, the service standard is 2 months for an initial PR card.

After speaking with CIC last week they told me I didn't have my pr card yet as the application had been sent to my local immigration office as the pics were unsuitable. These are the same pics that Ive used for every stage with no issue, they were taken professionally and followed instructions. So I landed on 31 Aug, pr card application was sent to local office on 28 Oct and they have eight weeks to contact me direct to meet with them.

Don't quite get this one...but that's been the whole process for me!!

Hubby got his card today!!!! Finally!!

Landed: Edmonton, AB
Landing Date: August 12, 2011
PR Card issued: November 5,2011
PR Card received: November 14, 2011
Total time: 65 business days

Problems: No idea why it took so long. After being quoted 4-6 weeks at landing, then an unknown time at the 6 week mark, then end of December, when hubby called on November 5, they said it should arrive by the end of this week. So, as soon as he got it, we went to Service Canada and he got his SIN. Now the job hunt can start. It was hard to start it when there was no way of knowing when the card would arrive!

Hello,

Well I called the PR Card line and I was told that our pictures are not valid... it took them 4 months to let us know that, even though we did send the pictures as they requested taken by a professional photographer, so I do not know if there mas have been a milimeter missing somewehre, or if they lost them and this is just their standard excuse. Anyway, not much I can do about that.

I was told that I was sent a form to fill out and send new pictures to an immigration office by post.

Has anyone done this? is it an easy process? or is it going to be as lengthy and tedious as they one I have just been through?

Thanks.
