Well, today I received my OHIP card!  That was good and exciting in it's own way... but not what I was hoping for.  I must have timed it just perfectly to have it get lost in the mail strike. :S  I expect it to wander into our mail box on some dark January night.  :S

I GOT MY PR CARD TODAY!!!        

I may have got it in the mail yesterday but I was only able to check today. I almost missed it because I thought it would come in a brown envelope like all the other stuff so be aware, it does come in a white envelope if you didn't know. I am so glad I read it though. I was afraid my pictures weren't accepted as I thought the card would feel like a credit card in the envelope but it felt very flexible so I was sure but sure enough it was in there. I will be off to get my SIN number on Tuesday hopefully. I would go Monday but I am not sure if they will be closed or not because I know the Post Office is closed on Monday. I am assuming they are too. I think they issued the card on July 22nd because that is the validity. I can't wait for you guys to get yours. GOOD LUCK!!!  I can't believe I am done and don't have to wait on anything anymore. Its so surreal.

P.S. Took 41 business days. Not bad at all. I will update the chart soon.

I haven`t got mine yet, but it means it should arrive soon! Good luck with getting the SIN and afterwards...Do you plan to get a job right away?
I`m anxious to have it, because I am jobhunting for a while and had a couple of interviews this week- it would be nice if I get a call back to exclude the explanation about my `I am using my SIN which is expired, but it`s totally fine, that is what CRA told me` situation. Grin
I will be sad when I will leave my current workplace, I love my co-workers, bosses, everyone, but I have to move on with my career...

I just talked to CIC and asked if the applications were being transferred to ON. I was told that the embassy in Damascus was closed for a short amount of time and they were considering sending the files to ON but the embassy is now open and has a little backlog from being closed but are catching up.

OMG, ditta I thought of you all day. I cannot wait for you to get yours. Let me know when you do please. It would be very nice for you to get that for a new job. I am sure your co-workers, bosses, etc. understand. Just remember to keep their contacts. I think I am going to wait another couple of weeks as I have a couple of more doctors appointments and don't really want to have to ask for too many days off right off the bat and make a bad impression, you know? I am sure I will change my mind though. Do you have any tips for writing a resume, getting a job, and the job interview? Thank you for the good luck wish for SIN, I will let you know when I get it. It will be my first and only.

I'll call CIC too, I'm worrying! Do you guys know what type of info they'll ask me to provide this info? SIN number? Landing paper number?  Undecided
