You gotta have a copy of your CSQ with you when you land. A copy its fine, doesn´t need to be the original.
Thank you so much for replying

Hi I have landed to Canada on 27th of February 2012 with my wife & child. I am waiting for my PR card. My mother is alone in India & she is ill (having heart problem). Now because of such reason I want to go back. (1)Is it possible for me to go back without taking PR card? (2) If I will inform the immigration about my visit. Are there any chances that they will stop my card processing? (3) Is there any difficulty I will face to get Travel document from my country? I am in hurry to go back for my mother. The CIC call centre representative told me to wait till 20th April & then call for card status. What should I do? help me...

Hi, I would recommend just leave for your country as you have completed all formalities for a PR card, your card can come anytime upto 9 months. So no use in waiting for the card or expediting the card procedure ( specially in your case). If you family is in Canada they can receive your PR and can fedex the same to you which will help you enter the country again. If you do not receive your PR card in the meantime and are planning to go back to canada then you will have to get a special visa from the Candanian consulate in Delhi. This is a very simple procedure. Please proceed to your country and do not worry about your card.

I have landed on 17th of Feb and I have received my PR Card a week ago and hopefully you will be holding before end of this week. Its better leave Canada after holding your card and as per my experience Indian embassy are not helpful to issue travel document in time and its risk to do send PR Card through post. Good luck

hi everyone I'd like to join you guys here... I landed at Apr 2 and now I'm waiting the card. I have bought flight tickets last week and I faxed the info to CIC ( I knot it might not work for me but I just want to give it a try) with my e-tickets and a cover letter which mentioned I'm going to leave Canada at June 5th and I'd like to confirm if I'll receive my card in time. Let's see I'll update if I get any news Best wishes for all of you

Thank you for your reply, I am planning to go back to my country with the help of landing papers & one of my friend who is living at the same address ( that I have given) will receive the PR card and send it to me in India. Now another question arise (1) Is there any possibility that CIC will not send me my PR card because I am not physically present in Canada? (2) Do I need to contact CIC & inform about my travel back? (3) Someone told me that obtaining travel documents from India is not so easy. Sometimes they refuse to give it especially in case like me when a person is landed in Canada & go back in a 1 or 2 month. I have no job now in Canada. In such case I will be finish because I have already left my job in India & wind up my business too. I am planning to go back because my mother is alone & her health is not good having severe heart problem. I am going back just for some month (may be 4 or 5 month) . I am totally confused plz help me & my family... Urgently need your advice.. because on the basis of that I have to take the decision. Thank you

My PR card arrived in the mail yesterday - 16th April. That's 34 business days (don't forget CIC got Good Friday & Easter Monday off) - which is one day less than the 35 they are quoting on the website. I landed on 26th Feb which was a Sunday, so I started counting day 1 from 27th Feb.

hi Today I called on call center number & the person told me that they have already sent our PR card on 17th April 2012 (yesterday). any one has any idea when will I receive it? I have to book my tickets. how many days it will take for the delivery of cards in Scarborough? can I plan to leave country after a week? when I asked him how much time it will take to come at my address. his answer was controversial that may be it will take 2 weeks? Is canada post is soooo much late? I heard generally Canada post will deliver it in 5 working days. again the confusion.. what should i consider? some what happy but now again confuse for taking the decision regarding my booking. as I am not aware about the post services & immigration services of canada help me to understand above situation...

well...Canada Post....The only story I can share is my school diploma was sent via Canada Post to me and it took more than a month to my place when the school is only 5 blocks away from my house...I really don't know how they deal with their work. Not to mention how many times they put my mails to the next building since the receiver's address is totally correct So, overall, I'd like to suggest you that give it at least 2 weeks before you booking tickets.

Hello to every one,
Landed in Toronto with my family on 12th March. Will wait for 2 months ( 12th may) before calling the call center if we dont recieve the PR card.
Just have a small query : During the landing ,on the COPR form which the immigration officer filled different things, mailing Address ( the address we provided) was written only on my ( primary applicant) COPR.On my wifes & daughters COPR they didnt write any address. Is this normal since they only mention the mailing address for the primary applicant COPR & it automatically applies to others ? Hope it is not considered as address not provided for mailing the PR card?

I have one question, when my wife lands here, will the same last name be on her PR card as on application for immigration? or can she give my last name to the Immigration officer at the airport for the PR card? can she give a last name to be put on the PR card or it HAS to be exactly the way as on the application?
Please let me know?

Hey guys! It's good to be finally posting in this thread. For a while, my wife and I were part of the "wait for PPR" threads. My question, my wife landed on April 11, 2012. I'm getting different answers regarding her PR Card. Some people said PR card must be applied manually, as in we have to do it ourselves. However, CIC's website stated that If you are a new permanent resident, you will automatically receive your new card as part of the immigration process. Current permanent residents may apply for a PR Card if they: I assume we just have to sit and wait for her PR card to arrive, then? No further action required?

Now another question arise (1) Is there any possibility that CIC will not send me my PR card because I am not physically present in Canada? Nope. You should get it unless there is an issue with the photo specs. They will ask you to send photos again and re do the whole process. (2) Do I need to contact CIC & inform about my travel back? Depends on when you are coming back. I am totally confused plz help me & my family... Urgently need your advice.. because on the basis of that I have to take the decision. I am sorry to hear that my friend. Hopefully she gets better and you can get back. Here is the thing. I am not sure about the travel doc thing. But i agree that if someone can be here to receive the PR cards, then you can stay for however long you want. The only issue is when there is a photo spec problem and you need to fill a doc again and re present your photos. Good luck man !
Thank you
