Can anyone tell me if there are significant changes in waiting period if the sponsor is a Canadian Citizen or a simple Canadian permanent Resident?

does the applications where a Canadian PR is the sponsor take longer?

thank you

I am processing from Rome...
the thing I don t understand is that they received all the application at the beginning of february (I was in Rome to visit my family and they told me that the package was there but not opened yet)

but my boyfriend received an email where the immigration center started to process his visa ONLY on march 25th...I mean the application was there for 1 month and half and no one touched it!

I have some friends who sent the application one month before me (i sent it on december and they sent it on november) and they received the visa already...i m wondering if there are some problems or it s only long time processing for the application sent in that month...

difference in timelines differ because of the country the applicant is coming from

third world countries take longer (much longer)

hope you are sponsoring from the USA lol

best of luck

you are also dealing with people so some are efficent and some simply aren't which also delays applications, some apps look similar but no two applications are identical...the length of time you know the applicant, the proof you sent varies, how establish the applicant is in his current country, the schooling and on and on

one thing is for certain.....there is an end!

you have just shortened the timeline to a quarter of the wait time by not sponsoring from a third world country lolol

best of luck!

one other question:
when you see the average processing time (rome for example is 5 7 months) it is referred to the time you sent the application (in my case december) or by the time they opened the file in rome (in this case march)?

Hi

one other question:

The date the Visa office receives the file.
