pr applications sent to damascus office

hi everone.
         i have applied under skilled worker catogory on may 2009 .i got my first file number on june 2009.according to the request i sent all my documents on july 2009.i recieved a second file number on august 2009.then onwards my ecas status showed recieved by visa ofiice but till now i dont have a reply.july 2011 onwards my ecas status started showing in process.my application already completed 2 years .now i have a few questions.can any one can answer me....thanks in advance.any one can the same experience pls let me know...........

1. why it is taking too long time in my application?

2.when i applied my ielts was accademic.after that on june 2010 ,they make it completely general.does it make any problems to my application?

3.i am an indian working in cyprus.i gave my application from cyprus which is under damascus. now i wanted to leave this country,because my contract expires this august.does it make problems in my application?

Hi Sheena thomas,

There is nothing strange in the current situation of your application. What I think is most probably the delay could have been due to background checks. Unfortunately the political atmosphere in Syria is getting worst and that also may result for slowing down the smooth functioning of the Embassy in that country. 

However there is nothing to do  to speed up the process. As you have to leave Cyprus due to expiry of job, you should inform Damascus  office about it on a letter  stating your contact address and telephone numbers in India.
