PR Application from India - Aug 2007 transfer

Hello Folks

I had applied for my PR application way back in Aug 2007 from India in the then applicable simplified process where we just had to submit one form and fees. I got my file number and since then its been in process stage.

Now I am in Canada for a long assignment and have sent a mail to CIC Delhi to transfer my file to the relevant office in North America

I didn't apply for my spouse at that time but now I want to add her name to my application. I had a few questions in this regard

1. Once the file is transferred (hopefully) - when will the office in Buffalo (?) request me for all my documents?
2. When and how can I add my spouse's name for the PR application?
3. Once the file is transferred to Buffalo and my PR is in process - do I still need to apply for a work permit or can I continue to work in CAnada by the virtue of my file being in Buffalo?

Yes I do - it expires in Oct 2011
