We just received our passport request on June 17, but we have travel planned in the next few days and won't be able to send the passport until July 4. I've heard the Paris office is quite slow at returning passports. My husband's work visa expires on August 12. If he isn't able to land prior to August 12, do we need to apply for a visitor visa extension?

I have no idea. You could send it off after your trip and wait and see if you get it back in time (and can land), and if you don't have it back in the working days before his time expires, he could then call CIC and see what they advise and if he needs to submit the extension for the visitor permit. Or maybe call CIC now and ask, so you know in advance?

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking! I guess we'll see how long it takes for the passport to come back.  Huh
