Hello everyone, I have a degree in Electronics Engineering and 6 years of I&C experience from Asia. I still have a good job in my home country

I am thinking to apply for PR via EE. I am not assuming that I will get a good job in Canada which is why my plan is to do survival jobs for a year or so and then get a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Management etc. I dont have alot of saving so I will have to apply for govt loans like OSAP etc.

The question is that will I be able to land a decent (annual salary 60k CAD) once I have a Canadian masters degree?

Like mystique stated, nothing is guaranteed. Over here, the experience and how you are able to sell yourself through resume and at interview makes the difference. You could get 6 degrees and still won't have a job if you are not aggressive enough.

Might I suggest, several government funded/affiliated "bridging programs" for all new comers. Various programs are offered through various agencies and colleges/universities. Through their network, you might be able to get jobs/internships/coop. This experience and the network would be way more valuable than survival jobs and more education.

I believe settlement.org has all the good links. My wife is currently doing unpaid coop which would eventually lead to a paid position. She has currently decided to drop her education route.

OK guys I'm finally planning to move. Can you guys please share how your experience has been so far? Can you also share tips on how to look for suitable jobs?
