Hello, I came to canada last year to be with my fiance` who is a canadian citizen. I came in with work and study permit. The program I came into for school I did not like and have decided to choose a different path. I was wondering what i had to do or if it was possible to apply for an open work permit. I also want to apply for permanent residency. My fiance and I are getting married next year and intend to start a family. I just want to know what my best option is to becoming a permanent resident and eventual citizen. Thank you in advance for any and all answers.

You don't qualify for an open work permit at this time.

Once you are either married or common law (have lived together for a minimum of one full year), she can apply to sponsor you for PR using the inland process and you can include an open work permit application with the sponsorship package. The OWP will be approved about four months after the sponsorship application is received.

Note that your study permit will be automatically canceled and you'll be out of status in Canada once it's been more than 90 days since you dropped out of school.

Is there a way I can change my study permit? to the path I am in now which is HVAC. I plan on going to school for it.

Sorry - not sure I understand your question. Change your study permit to what?

Is my study permit I have now linked to the program I was previously in? In which I applied for my study permit. If I choose to change programs does it at all affect my study permit?

Hi Everyone,

I would like to get some suggestions regarding my spouse open work permit.

I was on study Permit when I applied for Spouse Open work permit first time, and it got rejected stating that " Not satisfied with the relation".

Then the second time I applied again with an explanation letter and some proofs to show that we were in a relationship along time ago before I arrived Canada.

It got rejected again stating that " Not satisfied with the legitimacy of marriage".

Now i am on Open Work Permit, and my NOC skill is B. I have already applied for my AINP(spouse included as a dependent) and expecting to receive nomination next month. I would like to get some suggestion, what should i do next? as i want my spouse to be here.

what are the chances of SOWP or Visitor visa after receiving AINP.

Thanks
