Folks,

I'm a Canadian Citizen since year 2000. Currently living in Calgary Alberta.
I want to apply for the TRV for my spouse, with whom I got married in my country of origin, 2 month ago.

Has anyone heard or applied for a TRV (Temporary Resident Visa) with Dual Intent, i.e declaring in the TRV application that once the spouse will land in Canada, an inland application for spousal immigration will be filed, along with the Open Work Permit.

I want to know any previous precedence of such an Dual-Intent Visit Visa, recently applied by anyone.

That article is from 2014. Just browse the forum and you will find a lot of people getting their spouses TRV rejected before and after 2014.

From what I have seen, your spouse would not get a TRV if the intent is to apply inland and stay in Canada. But that's just from my own experience, hope someone who had a positive experience with this replies to this thread but I have not seen many positives thread about this specific issue. Most of the times, the couples just end up applying outland. I have seen many couples getting TRV after having an outland ongoing but the rejection rate is still super high.

Just curious, Sam - did you get the TRV declaring dual intent, or did you say otherwise?
