You can see our whole process on trackitt. London started processing Dec 4th 08. Decision Made appeared on e-cas Feb 9th 09 and PPR letter received Feb 12th 09. By the time we get the visa back next Thursday (March 5th) it will be 3 months and 1 day of processing in London. Which I guess fits with the 50% of cases in under 4 months timeline.

Hi,  my wife posted our application earlier this month and was received in Mississauga on the 5th Feb.  I know that it takes around 40 days for her to be approved as a sponsor (if successful!), but will she receive any notification before that decision?  I have seen some people talk about a letter with the case file number???  We have our receipt number for payment of fees and have checked the website but we are not on there yet.

I guess I am just over-worrying that our application has become lost there somewhere!!!  We have proof of delivery from the postal service and a signed for name.
hello it takes 1 to 2 months then you'll get your AOR (Acknowledgememe of Receipt) that means is in process. hope it helps.

I just logged on to e-cas and we are on the system!

It says that they started processing on the 25th Feb and that the status is DECISION MADE and that a letter was sent out on the 25th.  It also said that it was received by them on the 6th.  I guess they could have started processing before the 25th but only put it on the system when the decision was made???

Is it a good or bad thing that they made a decision about eligiblity to sponsor so quickly?  We will be waiting for the post!

I think you're really over-thinking this. Don't worry! It's a good thing that they approved you quickly-- it means they had no reason not to approve you. Besides, quite honestly, once they approved you, they've approved you -- whether it's good or bad that they did it quickly is irrelevant. Mine said that they received my application Sept. 19, they started processing Oct. 22 and sent a letter abut the decision. Oct. 22 -- same day, just like you. And my husband just got his visa last week.

processing in mississauga means checking if all documents are there and if the wife can sponsor you so its not a hard job for them , its not their business to go into details of ur relationship and marriage and see if its genuine or not this is the job of the visa office thats why 99 percent of cases are processed in one day in mississauge , the biggest step is the processing in ones visa office .

Nope. We did it ourselves. We don't have a very complicated case so we didn't feel we needed a lawyer.

my spouse received his acknowledgement of receipt after 2 months it includes his file number. once you receive your AOR then you can check his application and you will see when they started to process. hope it helps.

For those going through London though, the PR applicant doesn't often get an AOR. You can see the progess of the PR application using the sponsor's ecas account, you don't have to wait for the PR applicant's file number etc.

You were very lucky Mrs BWL - we started in Feb 08 and have just had the request for a new medical and police report - hoping this is meaning the file is rubber stamped for approval.

Thanks for all the advice - letter came today approving first stage.

Now everything goes to London!!!

How long before they start looking at it in London.  I know the total period is 3-9months for 80% of cases - I guess I should just sit back and wait!

Ours took about 3 weeks from the time they approved sponsorship to the time we saw our application in London on e-cas.
