I think there is a difference between notarized copies and originals and the New Delhi Office specifically requests originals certificates in the checklist. If not I think the application might be delayed if we are to send originals at some later point. However, we need to confirm this to be sure. Guys, what your views on this.

Do you mean that original mark sheets to be sent in university sealed envelopes ?

I don't think so.

most of the India universities have procedure to issue transcripts.

The process is send attasted copy of your all years marks card + degee+ application + fee. They issue you the sealed envolop tranbscript. which is nothing but they put rubber seal on all the opening side of envelop.

I understand few of them may have reservation. I suggets you to contact the registrar examination / evaluation in your university. Most of the time we contact the university staff / people who does not know the process or do not want to do extra work in universities.

I am still confused abt folowwing mentioned on New Delhi VO checklist-------------

Transcripts: original transcripts of all degrees must be submitted in university-sealed envelopes.

R transcripts equivalent to DMCs(detail marks cards)?

No. According to new instructions issued we dont have to send Police clearance now, VO will request it. Its easy to get Police clearance in my country, so i sent it anyways.

You have to request your university ( not college) usually to the controller of examinations/ evaluations , that they should provide transcripts . Transcripts are a collection of all your marks of all your years of study consolidated into one single document . The university will ask you for photocopies of your marks sheets ( maybe attested ) and some fees and will issue you transcripts . Original transcript does not mean your Marks card or sheet , it just means that the transcripts which you send to the CIO should have been made by the university in original,( you cannot use photocopies )  and sealed and sent to you and you have to send the sealed envelope with your application to the CIO . Do not send your original marksheets.

In our case, when we approached the university of Madras, all they did was, asked us to photocopy the degree certificate and mark sheets and then they attested each page. Then they put the papers in a plain cover and sealed front and back of the covers. They confirmed this is the way they have been providing transcripts for higher studies and immigration ever since they started entertaining such requests. Hope this one is acceptable.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.
