A PGWP can't be extended.  To continue to work you require the employer to obtain an LMO and you would then need a new work permit.  Since LMOs take about 8-12 weeks, it is unlikely that you will get a new work permit in time.

Hi,

1. Your current valid status in Canada is a PGWP, not a study permit.
2. To continue so called "visa extension", you need a 'Full Work Permit' based on a positive LMO.

Hi,

1. If I have to explain in your terms, I would say your study visa is already converted into a PGWP (work visa); and now to continue from PGWP to a 'Full Work Permit' (another work visa), you need a +ve LMO.
