Hi Everybody

I am presently offered with a job in New Zealnd and would like to join in the job by the first week of February 2011. I have no idea what to do to carry on with my migration into the Canada.

My full set of documents was sent to the Delhi office on 11-Oct-2010 and got the file number on 14-Nov-2010.

My question is;

Is it possible to change the visa office in the middle of the process. If yes, do i need to send all my documents again to the new visa office ? Also advise me the challenges i may be faced to switch over the visa office.

Advance thanks for your replies

HI

Yes you can change the visa office you will have to inform the ND visa offie in writing that you are moving to New Zealand have alteast 1yr visa and would like to transfer your file to NewZealand. Now there are certain things to remember if you change your visa office, it could take upto 3 months to transfer your file from ND to NewZealand, secondly your file processing will start from the begining and will put into the queue which also could take more time. NewZealand applicants send there documents to Sydney, Australia so your office will be Sydney Australia. You will not be required to send documents again it will be transfered from ND office to Sydney office.

Good info saki

The process seems like deadly slow now and I guess my case will take atleat upto July  - Sept 2011 as per reading many cases on this thread. So I thing I can make some bucks in the meantime and board to the dreamland Canada when the process get completed probably in 2012.

Do you think I may get the PR before July this year. I know nobosy can tell an exact time, but I am asking you a probability.

1.  There is no CHC in New Zealand, they go through Sydney Australia.
2.  Secondly CIC will not transfer the file, except for the integrity of the program.  Please read the following quote from the OPs  Bulletin 180

Visa offices are not required to transfer files for any other reasons. Such reasons include cases of applicants who comply with subsection R11(1) for the specified visa office, at the time the application is received at the CIO, but subsequently leave the territory of the specified visa office. In these cases, the original visa office should proceed with a final determination of eligibility and process the application if eligible. The visa office should not transfer the file to another visa office unless the transfer is warranted for program integrity reasons. Leaving a visa office's territory alone does not warrant a file transfer. In this case, if an applicant requests a file transfer, the visa office should inform them that the application will not be transferred

Hi PMM

You are right thats what it says in OP but i have seen a case where applicant was in Buffalo and he moved to New Delhi and on this request his file was transfered from Buffalo to New Delhi and Buffalo visa office told him that it will take 2-3 months for the transfer. I dont know on what conditions they have transfered his file.

New Delhi is going very slow these days i know some applicant who applied in August got 2nd AOR in September and there status is sill "Recvd By VO" so by looking at this i think it will be late this year when your application will get in process but its just what i think it could be earlier as well.

Thank you so much saki and PMM for your reliable inputs.

I am little bit confused now, Is it almost impossible to transfer the file or what ?

If it is not possbile, I would like to know whether its sensible to inform Delhi office about the changes in my address to New Zealand and do my medicals in New Zealand and send passports to Delhi when they ask for it. I heared its illeagal to send passport beyond the borders of the country where we are living now, Is that true? Same time I read from this thread that UAE applicants are sending their passports and medicals to London visa office!

Waiting to see replies on this

Thanks a lot

Hi

I think the best option for you would be to stick with the same office becauase you have already got the 2nd AOR now and if you transfer it to Sydney it will just delay and Sydney office is also not that fast. You can move to New Zealand and then update your contact details at New Delhi office. You can do medicals in New Zealand but for visa you will have to send your passport to New Delhi. I have also seen middle east people sending passport to London so there will be  legal way to send passport from NewZealand as well or you can just travel to New Delhi and get visa stamped.

Hi

By that i mean that when they ask for the passport you can travel back to India for holidays and send your passport for the visa, this is if you really cant send passport legally from NewZealand but i think there will be some way and if you search this forum you will come to know about it. Maybe PMM have some infomation on this.

Dear Vismaya, Its from my understandings that sending passport to a foreign country is risky and guess its illegal.

The best option is to travel yourself with the passport or send it with a friend/relative with written authorization.

HI Vismaya,

I have done some research and came to know that it is illegal to send passport from India to any other country so even if you are successful in sending your passport from NewZealand the New Delhi visa office will not be able to send your passport back, so this left you with only 1 option to travel to India when they request for the passport.
