I was actually reading on this website that Port of Spain has 26 Local workers and 6 Canadian. I believe this information is from a 2008 audit they had there. At that time they ranked #36 out of the 44 visa offices outside of Canada. http://www.immigrationmanuals.ca/CIC5.phpwho knows though, things may have gotten better as that is data from 2 years ago. Let's just hope so! |

Hi All Thank you confuse... I try not to stress to much because my body cannot take it and I need to be strong for my children. If this process do not make me crazy then nothing will. Oh God ROYALT, that is so little staff in what I would assume is a big embassy.
I really hope they have improved and get their acts together.
One thing I have somewhat speculate is since they have so little staff (Cdns) that conduct interviews I think they try to do interviews in their million and one regions they handle in the Caribbean every few months. Or, they prolly put names in a bag and pick who will be next.
For example, all the Vincys will be put together in a pile and be called for an interview the same time and so the circle of interview moves through the office.
If they could tell me that they will expedite my application by having me go to POS for the interview I will be there on the next flight out.
I still think it's unfair to most of us especially when our countries have a Cdn Consulate present.
I read on another forum that in India, they give their local consular staff to conduct the interviews which, again I think is unfair. I hope this never happens for POS because I don't want no damm local to find out about my story.
Dem too dammm fass an all you kno how sum caribbean ppl like fih mind otha ppl's business n love to share the "who seh, dem seh" story. Lawd, ah cyan tek it wid dem.

you are sooo right, I hope they do not allow locals to do the interviews. Not only because they goin talk ppl story but because they may be feel threatened that foreigners are taking away their men/women and may be very bias in the interview.
As for the piles from each country, they better not! LOL, dem tings nuh right cuz there must be triple the amount from Trinidad compared to the other countries...we'd be waiting forever. Honestly i think they really do them in order of receipt but its just that some IO's are slow.

I lived in trini for a few years before me and my spouse came accross. My spounse was interview (for a travellers visa) and the interview was conducted by a canadian women. They do try to trick you with the questions thay ask but she was very nice.

Thanks Twinsmania. Youll b fine2. Stay stong for those beautiful babies. . .Ur right there must be cases that are in that office. We are just a small group in this forum. Remember there are thousands of applicants each year; many of whom who arent on this site sharing their experiences. And, like I said, I know many couples (also in my family) who have finalized in Trinidad in approx 6-8 months after marrying their spouse in Guyana. I'm not too worried about the process- I just miss my hubby! |

HEY ALL, GUESS WHATTTT?  ?? I received my CAIPS notes which I ordered about a month back on there wasn't really anything done on my file. The only thing highlighted is BACKLOGGED ..... how exciting of POS. They haven't even looked through any of my documents yet. The next BF date is on June 30 which I am hoping will call for an interview. Arggghhhh..... I have every right to say *censored word*ing POS office |
