Just checked the CIC website and the processing time for POS (spousal sponsorships) went up to 15 mths (no longer 14 mths). Other family members is now up 19mths (was previously 18 mths). Sponsorship of parents and grandparents is now 27 mths (was previously 26 mths).

Across the board, its all up to an extra month. Totally expected coming from this VO. Thankful its only 1 mth and not more.

@  Can4Vincy Let's hope with the MP's inquiry that you get that PPR.

Hi Guys,

I am not part of the process yet or even married yet but I have been trying to do ample research on the process and have been following this thread from the beginning. This is just ridiculous. 15 months to process an app? This is very disheartening when places with high rtes of marriage of convenience are getting processed within 3-6 months!

Greetings Forum Members,

Hope all is well with everyone.

@ Saka101 You're right. No wonder why MOCs are higher in these places with extremely short processing times. Nevertheless, it affects us all because Peter pays for Paul and Paul pays for all.  Those who have genuine marriages have longer processing times. Looking at some other countries, it takes about 3 to 4 years to complete spousal sponsorships so I'm still grateful for the 15mths processing time coming from POS.

When you do decide to start the process, wishing you the best of luck. Also good luck in your PNP sponsorship.

So a bit of an update in my case just to help those who are anxious about timelines:
My hubby had his interview in POS and we both attended in September 2011. They did not ask to speak to me so I just patiently waited in the adjacent building while he was interviewed. He was in with the IO for about 1.5hrs and then told we could expect a response with 3-6wks. Well in the 6th week, they sent him an email asking for the RPRF payment and his passport. So far, I have paid the fee and he will be sending his PP in a few days.
I've now been reading everything I can find about others who are at this point to see approx how long the process takes from this point to when he gets his PP back and can return to Canada. The email said he had to be landed in Canada before Jan.2011 since his medicals expire then. I'm hoping he can return before Christmas and before our baby boy makes his entrance!

Hellooooooooo POS!
So happy it's Friday. I get to unwind and relax.

@ LD Waiting No updates on my end. I've read that glitches may mean they're working on your file. Keep your fingers crossed

@ Candyb B It's been a while. Happy you're almost done with this process.

Judging from others timelines I'm extremely anxious for some sort of correspondence from POS. The March 2011 files are being dealt with so far.

Let's keep it moving POS. Reunite our families!

Quick question, if you are sending addtional info to the POS office can you drop the package at the office, or do you have to send it in by mail? If it is possible to drop it in, how do you do it?

 @  trini 777
Very easy to drop stuff off.... Just go to the office and the guard will say us that a passport or other paperwork? Then he will take it and put it in a bin.... Easy Smiley

Through mail can you include only your client ID when submitting add'l docs or must you provide a file number.

I do not have a B or F file # so will my client ID be sufficient?
I'm submitting new police clearances as mines expired.

@ Admirable - Your F# wasnt on your AOR?Huh Did you email them to ask for it?
Im sure if you provide the person you are sponsoring or if its yourself, your name D.O.B, and address your should be fine....put all that info on every piece of paper you submit, as well as the envelope

I never received an AOR from POS. I received an email from Buffalo stating my file was x-fered to POS. I requested that x-fer. When POS received my file, they did not send me AOR. I was told that's perfectly normal. That email (AOR) was sent to me 31/03/2011 so I'm going by that date. I have sent CSEs to POS and they don't respond. I do have my Client ID and a file #. However, that number did not begin with a B or F.

****12345678 =File # (*s represent 4 numbers)
12345678= Client ID

I'm unsure if my file # is valid. But my client ID I have so wondering if my client ID should suffice. Also initially they made an error with my birthdate but it was a mistake on the person entering info into the computer because on the application form it was entered correctly.

If POS communicated, I would know something but based upon reading through this forum as well as others, once its within processing times they don't respond.

I can't log on to E-Cas using my info but with the receipt # and hubby's info, I can log in.
