They can require one if they wish to I have no problem with it. I would rather them call us for an interview they would probably want to know who is who all I would need to do is shave my head to look 15 years younger. My son is a carbon copy of me

Hi everyone I am new to this forum.

Than a longer version of my application, this is the shorter version of it. I apply for my spouse since May 2009. His papers were forward to Trinidad which the on online status shows that they start processing the papers in October 2009. He finally got his interview on June 1 at the Guyana embassy and the IO say that he would hear back from her in a couple of weeks. Three weeks pass and we did not heart anything so I decided to e-mail the office with regards to his application. Last week Tuesday I decided to check the online status of the application and saw that a decision has been made and the office will contact him. To-date we did not hear from them. My Question is do anyone knows how will they contact him if my phone or sending him a letter. How long would they take to contact him or it is bad news rather than good news that is why they are taking so long. I am so scared and worried about this. The process time is taking so long. I read some of the other people stories and I know that everyone is in the same situation as me. If anyone have a similar story like me please advice. Thanks

Was your application straight forward? Meaning were there any removal orders, kids etc. The timeline says 15mths for routine applications, from your info theyve had your info for over 2 years. Maybe the problem could be with the mail, but its alwasy good to prepare yourself for the worst, while expecting the best. My prayers are with you

That is what i thought... We have a kid together, there was no removal order or anything such thing. I am so worried it been one week and couple of days since a decision was made on the ECAs. I am not sure how long more it would take them to contact him.

 @ guyanesecanadiangirl,

Have you tried contacting your MP here in Canada? Did they give you guys an indication of how the interview went in June? May 2009 is way too long for them to be holding on to your papers. You should also order CAIP notes on your immigration file.

They may ask for a DNA test if they are not convinced. Is that not someting they can do?

They can ask for a DNA

I have the child health records from his birth so I sent it off today in lieu of the original birth certificate which we don't have. All the info they need should be on there including my name and his mother's name hopefully that addresses they concerns

Have you gotten notice of your file being forwarded to POS? That is the first step, after that you should have gotten an AOR, from what I've seen it should come within 3 months, and if not at least some correspondence asking for additional info or an interview date.

yes trini777 this thread is one of the quietest that I have seen I just had to send some additional information to Trinidad they wanted an original birth certificate closer to when he was born we did not have one so we sent his child health records we have the same info on it regarding the parents name and the birth information.

I believe they were trying to establish paternity

Hopefully it all goes well for you spiritrac.

Access1, from what you are saying the application never left Canada because it was incomplete. Presently CIC is taking 40 days to process 'completed' forms. You should call to find out if they received the last part that was missing and henceforth send your mail registered so that you can be certain your documents arrived. I'm really sorry to hear it's taken so long for it to reach even this far
