Good morning confused, any update on yopur ARC yet

Hey Canuck,

I believe my application is sailing, so to speak. I haven't heard any news about anything since I had my interview. I was hoping to have heard something before 2010 ended but the magic didn't happen.

I am giving them the end of this month to see what the hell is happening. CAIPS indicated that they are trying to determine whether or not ARC is needed even though I have clearly handed the IO a photocopy of my certificate of departure at the interview issued to me from the CBSA in Canada before I departed.

I really wish there is some news coming on my side very soon.

On the contrary, I have been reading posts in the JA forum and I must congratulate you and the Mrs. on making it to Canada. I do hope and pray that your life together will be fruitful forever and always Smiley

The CHC-POS office needs to have an internal audit carried out so we can see why they are delaying with these applications.

Thanks for the well wishes confused, I've been watching the POS posts for awhile and see that they're taking thier sweet time about things. You're right about the audit, KG was audited last summer and after the law changes on Sept 30 they came out with fire in thier belly. Have made many families very happy indeed. Take care and good luck my friend

Hi guys,
Congrats to all applicants that had a speedy processing time. I seem to be confused tho, I have applied since November of 2007 and to this date have only recieved a letter of acknowledgement, so to all those who find that waiting a few months stressful, it could be a few years like myself and a few others.
Can anyone advise/recommend a course of action that I may take to get application going, Thanks

Welcome rdeonarine Smiley

Do you mind giving some more specific details about your application? Is it Spousal or Skilled Worker?

Thanks, I applied as a federal skilled worker in late 2007, the problem I am facing is that two months after I had applied, The system was totally changed in 2008. I was advised that I  should not re-apply but wait. This waiting period is driving me insane, as this would be my 4th year waiting....Can anyone help, I usually check my online status, but in the last couple of months, it has changed from saying  'in process' to being just blank.

I am sorry to hear you are going through this difficult time. You just have to hang in there and keep strong. This processing is tiresome for most of it. No one in this forum is going through the Skilled Worker category but there are other topics in this forum that may guide you in a better direction.

Have you checked the most recent updated processing time on CIC's website for the POS office? I don't think there is much you can do right now in terms of legal help but just wait out the process. I am sure at the time you filled out your application you were well aware that it would have taken some time before you hear anything.

I am not sure if you can have a family member in Canada consult with their local MP to inquire on your behalf.

Best of luck to you.

Hello everyone,

I have enjoyed reading all your posts in regards to the POS office and how things are dealt with there.  Just wanted to get a feel of the average time it takes for them to process a case.  I filed my husband application in Nov. 2010 and was just wondering what happens from there and also what to expect.  We do have a child together, however this is my second marriage and also my second sponsorship as I had sponsored my ex-husband to come to Canada.

each case is different..depending on your circumstances, it would take longer or shorter.
for instance the fact you already sponsored an ex. will probably mean that the VO will review your case more closely which could delay processing times. the time for processing as indicated in the website is 15 months. But others are gettin through in shorter timelines. no one know how some get pr before others but the assumption is that it depends on the circumstances of each individual story and the strenght of proof of the relationship. need not worry about it. just go through the process and continue your life as normal. worrying will get you no where. i was like that for a longtime.

Thanks for the words of encouragement !! It is definitely hard not to stress/worry but I do try my best.  I understand that there is different processing times for each case.  All we can do is hope and pray for a fast outcome.  It is very hard though especially bringing up our child alone.

I rec'd a letter in the mail today stating that I have been accepted as a sponsor, so I hope things go well from here.  Roll Eyes

do they call?
do they mail?

nothing was indicated on my letter on how to pickup!
