How has it gone for people crossing at Port Huron?
Any problems exporting your car at that crossing?  We are crossing on Friday.  They are only open from 8 to noon.  Is it stacked up a mile high with other truckers coming in with vehicles?
I a landed Permanent Resident bringing my final load of household goods and my second vehicle--which we will be carrying ON THE PENSKE rental truck instead of towing it.  We had read online that the car dollies that they have to hook on to rental trucks really "suck" and ruin your gas mileage.  We are coming 2700 miles, so we thought putting it in the van with tiedowns would be the better idea.

By the way we are flying one-way to California via Buffalo.  Will that cause my Canadian husband any problems as he comes into the United States on a one-way ticket.  We have my whole folder with the goods to follow list, our rental truck agreement, etc. to prove that we are coming back to Canada and not staying in the U.S.

Any thoughts from people who have exported their vehicle through Port Huron or crossed there or come into Canada with a rental truck would really be appreciated.  Again, I am already a landed immigrant, but last time I came in with my own vehicle.

Keep your spirits up everybody!

They might care about your husband's return to Canada when you cross the border, but they won't care at the airport, since it's a domestic flight.

Unless your truck is really big, you should be going through the regular customs line.  I accidentally went through the commercial-vehicle line at Fort Erie and had to be escorted back to the regular line.  They will care about whether you are taking the truck back to the U.S. or not.
