Police/FBI Background Check

Settling into my first week of working on my wife's PR application..... This is way too much to process (really?!? EVERYWHERE she has lived since she was 18?)

I have a some quick questions regarding background checks.  My American wife has lived in both Montana and Texas.  Does this mean she needs to get Montana and Texas background checks in addition to her FBI check?  Also, she has been in Canada on a student visa since September 2009.  Would she need an RCMP background check as well?

Yes everywhere she lived for over 6 mths since 18

Thanks for the quick reply.  Is an Apostille required for the background checks?

Please note that unless she actually has a record in the states of Montana and Texas, the FBI certificate alone should be sufficient.  If the FBI record is clean ("no record found") Buffalo does not usually need the state certificates.

Concur. I did not need state police checks. At the time I applied (end of 2009) you only had to get them if requested by the VO.

She only needs the fbi  check....state certificates are not needed.
