Hello friends,

Normally the nigerian police issues the PCC with validity of 3 months maximum. Now I am scheduled to leave Nigeria next month for good. In such scenerio, if I submit my application to CIC say after 4/5 months - in that case will this PCC will be applicable as such I wont be living in Nigeria after its expiry. Pls advice.

CHC doesn't care that you claimed you left the country, the PCC no older than 3 months.

First of all what is your country of citizenship?

If you are a Nigerian: Then, the CIC may request for an updated one, from you, at a later stage.

If you are not a Nigerian: Then, bring one along with you, with stamped departure date on your alien Card plus your passport stamped  @  the port of departure(with the date of departure).

My 2 Cents worth:
Make sure you have one with you  @  any cost anyway.

It is quiet "kudi" consuming, if you have to obtain one from abroad.

Please let me know, which country you are from.

Thanks BobbyB for the more information.

I am an Indian and currently working in Nigeria.

I also lived in Nigeria for 20 Years. I left in 1989 and have had a lot of huzzles getting the PCC (but I have it now). It also states that it is valid for 3 Months.

So follow my second suggestion.

Thanks BobbyB.

Do you suggest that I shall attach copy of passport showing departure stamp of Nigeria along with PCC and send to CIC?

Yes and if you have an alien card as well, then attach a copy of that to it as well.
( You should normally have an alien card, unless the Nigerian immigration has stopped issuing them when you Land, stay and work in Nigeria).
