sher_singh, why do we need a PCC from Canada if we are applying from within Canada. As per the instruction guidelines available on the CIC website, PCC from Canada is not required.

@ daniel, I know but there is nothing bad also in sending a whole complete application safe from all sides, like in case of PCC at some point they will say you to submit it and the same will take time but I think if u will send it in advance then the officer who has ur file infront of him/her will see it already there then they can consider it and which can also save both of ours and their time...and the same time they can give towards completion of the process Grin ..this is what i am thinking..!

Hello. Have you received your PCC? I have been waiting to get back my passport and PCC from CGI toronto and it has been one month. Can anyone please tell me how long it will take? should I wait? What is the best way to contact them?

Hi  @ draxz1289
You must have got your PCC by now? Did you apply in person or by mail? Did they keep the original passport or returned it back after verification as said by  @ sher_singh.
thanks.

daniel, don't worry, you are correct, you do not need a PCC from Canada.  It is possible that CIC requests one later, and some people just like to cover their bases in case that happens, but personally, I don't like throwing away money.  Smiley

Hey guys,

I deiced not to get both the PCC from here in Canada and from India.. Reason

According to the requirements for PCC "In general, you and everyone in your family who is 18 years of age or over need to obtain a police certificate. You must obtain a police certificate from each country or territory where you have lived for six consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18"

I left India in a month when I turned 18 to Canada to study, and it is not required to get a PCC from Canada unless requested.

I did go to the Indian embassy last month with all my forums filled and bank draft etc only to wait for 2 hours to meet the person behind the glass and to be told I need to show my original current work permit - which I didnt have even though I had a copy they wouldnt accept
