How long does it take to get a police clearance certificate at the Indian Consulate, New York? Please share your experience. It's kinda urgent as I plan for a visit to India real soon.

SAN FRANCISCO - 5-6 DAYS
NEW YORK MAY BE SAME OR ASK FOR SAME DAYS

It will take  30 days to get it if your passport was issued in india.  If your passport was issued in Newyork it might be faster.
I got it twice from newyork for me and my wife, both the times it took about 30 days.

Thank you for your replies. 30 days seems not bad. I did my passport renewal one week back at NY. I have about 6 weeks in hand before I fly to India. I hope I get my passport back by then.
