Hi,

Got to do a UK police check for Family class visa for Canada. Does any body know how long this takes to process and how long it is valid for in the eyes of the Canadian Visa Authorities?

Most police checks are "valid" for one year but CIC wants them to be no more than 3 months old when they are submitted with your application.  And depending on the city and country in the UK where you must get the check, it can take from a few days to a few weeks to get it.

2 weeks unless you pay the extra and then it will take 3 days.

You send the application to London.

It is one of the easiest and fastest police checks to get. Download the application form, send it off with the 35 pounds ( I think that is the standard payment) and in 2 weeks they will send it back to you.
