Hey Mehwish,
The UK certificate takes two weeks to be done and costs
£10. However, I had mine done by one week. If you live in UK of course, I am not sure how it works to have them done from overseas.
Nice lady on police station gives you yellowish paper and advice you to tick both ChS and PNC as they cost same as individual pieces. You need to know all addresses you lived on in UK and reason to apply should be simply Visa application. You need passport or driving licence with your address or bills with your address in combination with passport. You need to show that to lady or gent, she / he will check it and return it to you straight away, check your application and take payment. Should be in your post by two weeks max
If you are not in right now cic. Website has article how to obtain them from individual countries from overseas if you go through search

hi,

PCC for immigration purpose is not issued from police stations anymore in the UK. you may have to download an application form from

http://www.acpo.police.uk/documents/ACRO/20110412%20ACRO%20Police%20Certificate%20Application%20Form%20v15.pdf

and chose whether you want normal service (35 pounds) or premium (70 pounds) normal service will take three to four weeks while premium will take 7 days(including postage times)

you will need one proof of ID and two proof of your current or most recent addresses and any addresses where you have lived in past 3 years or 5(cant remember).

you willl find all the information on the guidance notes provided with the application form. and you can apply for your PCC from overseas aswell.

you have to use the acro one they will most likely contact you about this asking for you to apply for the appropriate police certificate and this is likely to delay your application.

The UK police do not issue "certificates of good conduct" or "police clearance certificates", however in our experience foreign embassies will generally accept a police reply under the subject access provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 as a suitable equivalent.

I am not sure, but I think I might be ok 50/50 as I live in Scotland. I read about people using local police checks in Scotland. Sooo, I hope that uncle officer in London will have a good day and accept my mistake Smiley I dont mind to wait just want to be with my dear, I waited 5 years, few months wont kill me

Thanks very much though.......I will check with ASPO and CIC on Monday Smiley

Ada84, are you sure you did your police certificate in UK? It does not cost 10 quid so don't give wrong information. Standard one costs 35quid and premium one costs 70 quid hope you know.

Hey fernendez,
I am NOT giving out wrong information purposely ok? I know I got different police check, I realized it through this conversation, if you read it all, of course. But that is why it is called SHARE your EXPERIENCE. I will need to do additional police check if I get documents request from London VO, but until then I am not going to as we already received letter that we have all our documents as needed.
But thanks Smiley
