Hi there. I finally got my AOR and Medical request. I have one question and I hope that you guys can help me. I would really appreciate it.
When I sent my application to Buffalo, I was not able to include a Police Certificate for Malaysia and I lived there as a student for over six months. About one week after I sent my documents to Buffalo, I got notice from the Malaysian Consulate General in Vancouver that my Police Certificate was ready for pick up.
I was not able to send this to Buffalo because I had not received the Application Number so I have kept this Police Certificate with me for almost six months now.
Now that I have the application number, should I still sent this Police Certificate to Buffalo or just keep it with me? I guess Buffalo did their own security checks so my police record was clear for Malaysia. And honestly, I have no criminal record in Malaysia, otherwise I wouldn't be able to come to Canada.
Please help me out guys. Thanks.

You should have mailed it out to them once you received it even without the application #. Remember you find out your file # only 2 months after the receipt date by checking your encashed money order.

Police Clearance DOES expire. Now you should send them right away by mail/fax/email - all 3 communication methods, and retain a copy for yourself of course.

Truongan, I never even knew that you could look at your File# after your bank draft or money order had been cashed by the VISA office.I did inquire about my money order last month and was told that it had been cashed but the person I spoke to never mentioned about the File#, so how would I know? I only knew that you could inquire at the bank about your money order being cashed only after I had read the posts on this forum. And the office in Buffalo kept saying not to send any additional documents until the applicant received the File# so what I was supposed to do...?

Anyway, I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem...

ask them for a scanned copies back and front of your money order. the file number should be on the back, always!
