hi, hope you can help!

my partner and I live in the UK and I would like to sponsor him so we can both move to canada next year as a married couple. we are trying to work through the application but having questions regarding the police certificate:

he went to university in canada for 5 years as an international student and would go home every x'mas and summer (which means he would stay in canada for less than 6 months each time) except for one time when he stayed for 7 months. did he "live" in canada or was he just "visiting" when he was studying there, and thus, would he require a police certificate from Canada for the sponsorship application?

Thanks very much for your help!!!

My understanding is that any country in which you were in for at least 6 months (I may be wrong about the number of months) you have to provide a police clearance letter from.

hi, thanks for the reply. it is 6 months, I was hoping it would be a no, as the canadian police certificate takes such a long time to process.

Thanks for your help!
