I am a little worried about flying into Canada on a one-way ticket after reading a few posts about a WP application refusal by the Visa officer not being satisfied that the person could show that he/she will leave before the expiration date of the visa (and/or then applying for a PR status).

Reason for not buying a return ticket: I have seen friends going to USA/Canada border crossings to get new/renew work visas and I'd rather not pay for a flight to PROVE that I will leave the country at the end of my WP. The one thing that is virtually curtain(in all of this visa-related process) is that my Employer will very much want me to stay for another year(2012-2013) therefore a flight out of the country is very money/time wasteful and unwanted.

I have a USA-issued B1/B2 tourist visa valid for another 9yrs. Is that enough to satisfy the officer that I can leave Canada??

NZ Citizen/LMO Approved (valid till Nov 27 2011), Industry-qualified

Situation:

-On Working Holiday Visa (Open)
-LMO approved
-Will start Working Visa November 2011 when I     return to Canada from NZ BUT
-Passport expires October 2012.
