I told my mom to declare atleast $3000 for 2 week stay with me here in Canada. though she will not spend anything because she is staying with me and my husband.

Hi,

You should have enough money for your stay and the amount of money shall depend upon the circumstances of your visit like, how long you will stay and whether you will stay in a hotel or with friends or relatives. For more information, refer the website of your Canadian visa office of your country.
