Hi there

I am currently on a WP which is about to expire in Nov 2011. I would like to apply for PR and my company is more than willing to assist me with this. I need to find out
if I apply for PNP, do I need to renew my WP for another year (plus getting LMO and other drama) or is it possible to just go into "implied" status and continue working?

Regards
Pieter

for applying PNP your current WP is ok. if process in pnp office done before your WP expire you are fine, otherwise they will ask for new WP and new LMO just before issuing the PNP approval. check your pnp process time. if u nominated before WP expire you dont need LMO for new WP extension.
you can work on implied status only your new WP application in process.

Manitha thank you for your post.

I live am from BC, I will send in my PNP (Skilled Worker) by next week. Hopefully I can get a PNP result before Nov 17th when my work permit expires.

Where is the best location to check current processing times?

Can I apply for a work permit extension before my work permit expires in November and let the PNP still process?

If you apply before your PNP is issued with the accompanying support letter, you will need a valid LMO. The only way to substitute LMO is when you have your PNP issued with the support letter.
