Hi guys! I have a question regarding MR.... I know there's no one whose VO is Tokyo on this thread; apparently many people are either Buffalo or New Delhi... As for me, I'm Japanese and I had a choice betwween Buffalo or Tokyo but because of the processing time (Tokyo:5months) I picked Tokyo (shows so on Generic Application Form and on a Letter of Acceptance by BCPNP just because I got nominated on Nov-30 right before the process was changed) (BTW on my AOR from CIC, a word "Tokyo office" wasn't specified anywhere, just put as "Your application will be forwarded to a visa office for further processing. Is this weird? ) Anyways, my question about MR... I forgot to check with CIC if they'll accept medical from doctors located in Canada not VO location, as I'm obviously in Canada. I know the most certain way to confirm is to contact CIC but thought asking here first... So anyone whose VO office is other than Buffalo and who are in Canada, please let me know if you have any info about this! Hi, I am guessing this. Your file might be sent to Tokyo VO and once they receive it they will process your file and send MR request, reason why Buffalo getting MR is the regional office for medical recrods for anywhere in North America is Ottawa, but for Tokyo it might be Beijing /Delhi / tokyo or some other asian country...so once your file goes to Tokyo you should be getting all communication. Hi Prasamp, thank you for your reply! Oh I didnt know the North America's regional office is in Ottawa...hmm. My concern is that what if they request medical check from doctors in Japan/any other countries, not CANADA just because my VO is in Japan. There's no way I can go back there to get it done because of work etc. I can send MR no problem whereever the specified office; it's just that I wanna get medical done by doctors located in Canada. Thank you for your reply again! Hi,

Congratulations Prasamp Which visa office you requested in your application when you sent it to CIO in sydney ?? New Delhi Or Buffalo?? yes....got it This is to advise you that your application for permanent residence has been received and that a file has been created for the Regional Program Centre (RPC) in Buffalo. The RPC will be processing your files. Therefore all correspondence and enquiries must be sent to the RPC. Your new application and paper file numbers appear above. Quote these numbers when corresponding with the RPC.. AOR received... but its not New Delhi...its Buffalo. Thanks all for the support Medical forms attached as well so medical instructions are sent for me...

Thank you for your reply again! Hi, I don't think CIC dictate which doctors perform your medical, just as long as the doctor is 'on their list'. If you're in Vancouver apparently this doctor is pretty good, Dr. Stephen Reznek, #110 - 4980 Kingsway, Burnaby. 604 435 5585. He has everything in his buiding, xrays etc... Cheers, OM

Its clearly stated in CIC site medicals records shouldnt be sent to visa office as it will delay processing. Only to regional offices, which will be specified in the forms sent to you, accordingly do your medicals, do it in Canada and ask the doctor to send to regional office specified Tokyo/Delhi/Beijing whiecever, just that u will end up paying extra for the FedEx charges, say 70-100$ range for international charges.... hth prasmp

so, regional office is different from visa office. Can Buffalo be both regional office and visa office. how confusing is it.

no Buffalo is only VO.. this page in CIC site will clarify your query. Regional office is only for receiving Medical records and its the policy followed by DMP, they know which office to send, because if the VO or CIO send you the medical forms they will mention clearly in the top right corner of the form which Office my case its written as CPP-Ottawa so thats the intake office for medicas done within North America and surrounding countries. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/dmp-handbook/appendix-01.asp#appendix1

all... completed my medicals today...hope as per CIC if they process within 30days of medicals for PPR everything should be done soon. We all lucky to start our process when the rule changed to CIO...this pilot process is too good so far.
