I have been trying for the last year to find a way to join my sweetheart, in the Yukon, and become a PR.  We have been looking at the PNP for the Yukon, because I don't fall under any other category to legally be there.  My brother knows how much we want to be together and is going to provide the funds for me, but I need to make sure of doing things "by the book".

We are thinking that if I come there as a visitor, do my job search in person (which is easier than from Florida!), hopefully the employer will be willing to take me on under the PNP.  Is this idea feasible?  Can I apply for PNP while "visiting" Canada?  It seems like a viable plan, unless I have missed something blatantly obvious.

Thanks in advance for any advice!!

in my opinion it is viable plan to get job but still you will have to tell employer that you need work permit etc. to work there. You cant just start working on visit visa. And timeline for workpermit is like 2 to 3 months. So figure things out before you set out to go to Canada

Thanks hs202.  Can anyone else offer advice on this plan?  Is is better to try to get in under PNP if you are inside or outside of Canada?  Does it ultimately make a difference?  I am really at wits end as to making this happen.   Sad

I know more about the MB PNP (where for some streams you can/have to be in the country prior, in others you can't other than visiting as tourist). From what I just overflew the Yukon program I'd say, nothing keeps you up from visiting as a tourist and do job research. You find the job, you apply together with employer to the program, you get the nomination and then you get a support letter and can apply for the WP (and there for the fastest way you have to leave the country - flagpoling) You only can work with the activated WP in hand of course.
