How did you send the passport?? Courier, or through someone??
If you are in canada then don't send your passport from Canada by mail or courier, you have to go personally to India and courier it from your home town or city. It's Illegal to send passport from abroad to India via mail or courier. Beyond that it's illegal to send passport from India to abroad also. No courier company in India would get ready to send your passport back. In that case your passport would get stuck in India. If you would get somebody to send it via regular mail by packing it or camouflaging it, then you are putting your passport in risk.
There are numerous stories on canadavisa forums in which people by mistake have sent their passports from Canada and it has not came back yet. Passport and the individual should always be on same land |

I have send my passport through canada post.They told me that I can send my passport if its going to canadian consulate and not a residential address.
I am planning to get it back through someone with an authority letter from my side. I am hoping that I wont get into any kind of trouble.

i sent it by CANADA POST's PRIORITY service from Edmonton Canada to Delhi India ($95 i guess) will reach in 3-4 days for sure ( as i sent on apr 24 and reached by apr 28 indian time) |

So it means that the applicant doesnt has to go to India personally to submit the passport. It can be sent through courier?? But in this case, did you specified the address in India where it will be returned? Or the CHC will send it back to a Canadian address after stamping the visa?? |

Yup u don't have to go India ...(but from india cant post u someone can bring friend or relative ) In earlier letter they have asked my Indian address..... and with passport I sent my Indian address again...... |

Hello Frnz .. i got my passport with the magic sticker on it an d also wid a landing papers ....It took 7 days to return my passport after decision made e-cas status ... Hi,
I applied under arranged employment category. My total points were 73. My IELTS score was not that good. It was:
Reading: 4
Speaking : 5
Listening: 5
Writing: 5
Do you think they will reject my application because of low ielts score. But my total points are 73.
I received a file number letter through email from CHC New Delhi that says my application was received on 8 Feb 2012 at New Delhi Office.
I check my online status at CIC website regularly. Before 7 june 2012 it showed the status in process and that my application was received on 8 feb 2012.
But after 7 June 2012, when I check my online status it also shows my Canadian mailing address now with my in process status.
If anybody has an idea when will I receive my medical, please let me know. And will my IELTS score really matter for rejecton.

DO NOT SEND YOUR PASSPORT BY MAIL/ POST FROM ABROAD to INDIA.
I can see there are people who are still doing or suggesting to send passport by post from abroad to India. That's WRONG.
It's illegal and beyond that it's very risky.
Passport & Passport holder should be at same land

sorry for answering late.......yes i got my passport back with stamp ( CHC delhi sent back within 4 weeks) then my friend brought my PP here in canada........i already done landing......... |
