Hi there,
We spent 5 years illegally in usa after one year working for cruise line company(c1d-visa).Our children were born there,we never did any tip of crime. Now we are in our home country. My question is : being so many years in usa,can that put  negativity on our application?we have good points(university, working experience before usa and now).Should we apply??

Many thanx.

As long as you are honest in your application, about where you were it won't effect your application,  You will need an FBI police certificate though, it is your decision whether you want to apply or not.

Hi PMM,

Thank you very much for the information you have shared with all of us.

I am a bit concerned now after reading your reply.  You think the application can be denied after obtaining the FBI certificate (like in nat31's situation)?  I am asking you that because of the following section of your answer "it is your decision whether you want to apply or not."

Thank you in advance.

Well I have no idea if you qualify or not, you should take the assessment at www.cic.gc.ca .  But I am not going to tell anyone how to structure their lives.  If you wish to apply to emigrate it is you and your families decision, no one else can make it for you.
