I m the sponsor ( PR holder), currently on visit to my wife. No news from Singapore for about 10 months. I emailed them about status, no reply.
Next week, visiting Singapore. Wondering, Would it be wise to go to the CHC Singapore and to ask about status in little more details?

I know 2 of my friends applied the same time I did and their wives got PPR already within 9 months.

Singapore even didn't ask for anything. also medical is expiring next month. Really worried. Don't they follow medical validity time?

PR outside Canada sponsoring spouse?  You show up the CHC Singapore or that Singapore finds that you are outside Canada during the processing, you may find the sponsorship refused.

Thanks for your valuable advice. I won't go CHC Singapore. I Came to Bangladesh on Jan 29, 2011 and going back to Canada on May 2nd. I would not know the rule that I must reside in Canada while her application is in final processing. Besides, recently I informed them that I am in Bangladesh and going back on May 2nd.

After your response, I am now very much worried whether they are producing her refusal decision ( From last CAIPS, I found that BF date is Apr 01, 2011 and SELDEC 0 MEDDEC 0 BDDEC 0 FINDEC 0, Only PSDEC 1) . How could I get relief from this.

I sponsored her on July 7, 2010, Singapore started Aug 23, 2010. Since then, I visited her once on Nov 2010 and returned to Canada on DEC 05. This is my 2nd visit on Jan 29, 2011 and going back on May 2nd. 

What you think, Going back to Canada on May 2nd will save me? Please respond with your valuable advice What to do now.

Honestly , I think that you can expect a refusal.

The reason for the delay in processing is probably because you informed them that you were in Bangladesh - and this has been an extended visit, so it's going to be very difficult to prove that you actually intend to remain in Canada to honour your wife's undertaking after she immigrates - even if you do return to Canada in early May.  

The real issue is this: it's not so much about you being required to stay in Canada during the processing of her application (like it's some kind of "rule").  It's about what remaining in Canada says to them about your intention to actually make Canada your home after your family member immigrates.  Remaining in Canada throughout the sponsorship process demonstrates that you have sufficient ties to compel you to actually make Canada your home - and to honour your "undertaking" once your wife immigrates.  The point is to ensure that you will not just bring her to Canada - and then leave her to fend for herself.  In "sponsoring", you promise to be in Canada to provide for her basic necessities after she arrives.  Not remaining in Canada while waiting for her to be approved only indicates that you really do not consider Canada to be your home - you are not here establishing a life for the two of you.  Even Canadian citizens who sponsor someone while they are living abroad must prove that they intend to return to Canada and provide support for their sponsored family members.  In leaving Canada - and especially by staying away for so many months - you have shown them that you really have no ties to Canada, and it will be hard to make them believe that you actually intend to remain here once she immigrates.  That would be the main reason for you to be found ineligible to be her sponsor - and without an eligible sponsor, her application gets refused.
