I've been in Canada for the past 10 years as a student (applying for my student permit year after year). I know for a fact that i would rather stay here then going back to Hong Kong (my birth place). As the end of high-school is approaching i would like to farther my education here in Canada and someday be a Canadian Citizen. At this time i would like to know HOW to obtain 'permanent resident status' and HOW to obtian a permanent resident card because i plan to go to college (to become a nurse) and work to pay my school fees. Family support is very limited therefore applying for just a student permit again is just not enough... AND the tuition for a international student is three times as much as a Canadian. So i ask ANYONE that is out there that has the knowledge please help me out.

Well, going through what you don't qualify for.. if you are just finishing high school, you will not qualify for a PNP as a graduate because that's for college, you will not qualify for a CEC as a graduate because that's for college plus work for a year.  You can't apply as an FSW.  It's unlikely that you'll get a work permit for a skilled job to get immigration that way so that kind of leaves getting married and sponsored.  Even if you had relatives in AB, SK or MB where the PNP's have a family stream component, you would need to have at least 1 year training after highschool + at least 1 year work experience and that's in SK.  AB and MB make a requirement that you be 21 years old and have 2-3 years work experience and 1 year training.

Yes, once you are a nurse, you could get post-grad work permit and a job offer and apply under graduate class of a PNP program or work for a year and apply as an FSW or under CEC
