my friend does not work, and i wnt be staying at his house in canada, im gona be stayin in a hotel, bt he is coming nd leaving canada with me, because he attends my college. in your opinion how much money should i have in my acount if 2000 is too high? if i put a bank statement from my dads acount aswell showing that he lend me the money will that help?
Your Canadian friend can write you an invitation letter (may not be needed if your reason is just to tour Canada).
If you are visiting family and/or friends, you may also provide the following:

A letter, e-mail or fax of invitation may be submitted with the planned dates of your visit.
The invitation letter may include your host's full address, a phone number and a
signature that is clearly visible.
Proof of status in Canada such as a passport, citizenship card or permanent resident
